I Am Choking to Death & the Moon Says I Love You
I feel a joke coming on but write a poem called I Am Choking to Death & the Moon Says I Love
You instead. Instead of The Moon Says I Love You I name my first born The Fat Man in Drag &
can’t decide between the chicken or the fish. I want my life to mean something. I want my poems
to be more than just beautiful kitsch but the figure all in shadow is walking away from me even
now, having washed his hands of me, & I still can’t decide between the chicken or the fish.
Raymond Farr is author of Ecstatic/.of facts (Otoliths 2011), Rien Ici (Blue & Yellow Dog 2010), & Writing What For? across the Mourning Sky (Blue & Yellow Dog 2012). My favorite souvenir is a letter I receieved from Mark Strand in reply to one I sent him. It was personal & chummy & I cherish it. Thank you Mark Strand.
